Last Monday was our 2nd Monday weavers gathering and it was a perfect day for a fall drive to our friend Barb B’s house.  As always Barb and her home both are so inviting.  How can a house not be that is filled with spinning wheels and spindles and fiber galore.  Sigh… such a good place to hole up for any long cold days approaching.  The yummy soup and salad were the perfect addition.  I’m so happy that it is soup weather again.

Barb’s knitting friend Jane and her husband joined us and I think Jane was rather amazed with all of Barb’s many talents.  We wandered over to her studio where she has several weaving projects up and running.  Her rigid heddle loom is set up to make some sample scarves for a class that Barb will be teaching soon at our local yarn shop Ewetopia

We had a little show and tell of the various forms silk comes in for spinners to use.  From silk hankies to silk cocoons to the incredible dyed silk batt that looks like a dream to spin.

All in all a fiber filled day filled with inspiration.

Ya gotta love silk and those beautiful spindles make me want one and I don’t even really like drop spindling so not sure what that is all about.
