Last Monday our weavers group gathered again at Elin’s new studio.  We were a small but apparently very productive group.  As always seeing the amazing textiles that these talented women create has me itching to get busy on my loom.

Jewelry making has been  a lovely distraction in preparation for VIVA Gallery’s February Jewelry and Chocolate show, but now I feel the need to get my fingers into some wool, especially after seeing Denise’s many finished projects and Elin’s double weave wool blanket on the loom.  I have yet to try double weave that folds open to be twice the loom width. It seems like some kind of impossible weavers magic.

The good news is that I’m feeling much more productive than I was at this time last year.  I think that I am gradually finding a way to balance covid life and what used to be normal.  Hopefully soon with covid numbers finally going down we can all lean more towards the normal side of life.

The lovely baby blanket that Janet has finished for her newest grand baby

If anyone can tell us what this weaving structure is I would love to know. Huck lace? Crackle weave??

Olga’s fiber goodies. The hat was made from the sleeve of a sweater. Along with my newest spinner rings. It was nice to see them on these makers hands.

I love the pattern on these pillows made by Elin

My Starry Nights scarf. Lots of hand dyed warp yarns from Interlacements

Janets table runner and just one of Elin’s wall of rugs. I fell in love with a couple of them.

and finally a little puppy love. Maisie is always stealing something wooly so I figured she might as well wear it. And sweet (actually she’s a little gremlin) Molly hasn’t been feeling too well, so we’re giving her lots of cuddles. Thankfully she seems to be on the mend but I am happy the girls all got to see her and give her some love this last weekend.
