Our 2nd Monday gathering was at my house this month. It seemed like a good time to host as I am between art fair craziness and it has been such a lovely spring for flowers, if I squint my eyes to not see any of the weeds. Also my house really needed cleaning.
It was threatening to storm and that could be part of the reason it was a small group. With my limited parking, no one wants to walk up my rather long and steep driveway in a downpour. Small is always good for better conversation and it was nice to get to know our newbie weaver Ann Marty who is also new to the area.
I’ve been catching upon things after the recent studio tour but with 3 looms sitting empty and forlorn it is time to get busy with some new warps. As always I have lots of ideas, I’ll keep you posted and hopefully will have lots to show at the next weavers gathering.
Lots of great food and some really tart rhubarb lemonade
My Swedish lace linen scarf
Placemats by Ann / 2 versions of my bead Leno scarves. The top one Anne Marie frequently wears as a head scarf and is made of silk and wool. The bottom is the only scarf I have made that I kept one of and is mostly wool./ This is how you know we are a fiber group. Nan’s knitted scarf proved once again that we must all touch.
glad to see the peonies starting to bloom
Maureens towels being admired
good thing she is still cute. She failed the in the behaving around guests, part of being a good dog.
My newest weaving with 2 different warps, one of which I hand dyed. The pattern is a crackle weave that I found on Handweaving.net so it is a crap shoot how this is going to turn out. I used my double back beam to beam these 2 warps separately. Good thing I did cause the hand dyed one was misbehaving badly. Cameo appearance by my gay pride candle, makes me smile.
