I find myself behind on posts for our weavers gathering, partly because until just recently we had the internet from hell and it was pretty torturous to try to post.  There is also a slight lazy factor but oh well, I’m just going with blaming the internet.  But now we have entered the modern age and thanks to rural grants and Vernon Communications, that has brought actual high speed internet in a fiber optic cable right to our house. Hallelujah, now my kids can come visit and stay if they want to do their work from home jobs.

Bring on the holidays, I’m ready…just kidding.

Anyway to catch up our September meeting was a small but happy group at Janet’s house.  it is alway fun to take a stroll to her weaving studio and see what she has on her big Glimakra.

October was at Barb B’s house and I was sorry to miss it.  Such a beautiful time of the year for a drive along the Wisconsin river to her house.  Gandolf, (sweet llama)…  until we meet again.  On the plus side my DH has a new hip and is healing well.  I’m getting a real taste of what retirement will be like with him home all the time.  I don’t seem to get much work done while he is home so hopefully I get that figured out.

Our November gathering was at friend Elin’s house and she got to show off her new studio space which is spectacular.  Such an inspiring place to work, with views that I would never tire of, as you will see by the many many pictures that I took.  I will be showing these to my hubby, hint, hint.

The weekend before our 2nd Monday gathering my friend Nan and I had the pleasure of taking an electro-etching on steel class at Shake Rag Alley in Mineral Point; taught by Deb Donahue.  We had lots of fun etching metal to be made into jewelry later.  Hopefully I get to some of that later today and do a future blog post about it.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone and hopefully we can all remember the things that are important to us and keep them in our heart through the holidays and beyond.

A word of advice: never have a bed in your workroom especially with a cute dog who loves cuddles in it.
