weavers gathering at my house

By |2018-11-26T16:28:52+00:00November 26th, 2018|2nd Monday, Handwoven, Textiles|0 Comments

This Novembers gathering of weavers was at my house in the hopes that I could host before the snow flies and getting up my driveway becomes a leap of faith.  Other than a couple of panicked parking situations everyone made it up and we proceeded to have a fun and fibery gathering.  Plus I always [...]

goodbye summer gathering

Our September weavers gathering was a hot sunny day at Anne Marie's  country home.  It is fun to travel these winding roads and see the homesteads tucked back into the hills where gardens are bountiful, children are raised and life just happens.  After driving these back roads not so far from my own house I [...]

gathering in LaCrosse

By |2018-08-22T20:13:20+00:00August 22nd, 2018|2nd Monday, Handwoven, Knitting|1 Comment

This months weavers gathering was hosted by Janet and Tony at their condo in LaCrosse right across from a lovely garden and the Mississippi River.  It didn't take us long to take over the community room tables with piles of handwovens and yarny goodness. Lots of great food, as always but I especially loved the [...]

2nd Monday gathering at Barb’s

By |2018-04-23T02:51:01+00:00April 23rd, 2018|2nd Monday, Handwoven|0 Comments

With 2 significant snowstorms in April totaling more than we had received any other month this winter, our weaving group was thrilled to pile into Barb and Harry's warm and welcoming home. By the time Judith and I arrived the dining room table was well covered with handwoven goodies for show and tell. My contribution [...]

Our weavers meeting this month was at Bonnie's house with the enticing invite to see her winter lambs.  It was great to see Bonnie again and share her hospitality and I never pass up a chance to see babies of any kind. Check out Pine Knob Organics on instagram for some truly inspired photography of the [...]

Bound weave for the new year

By |2018-02-18T03:28:16+00:00February 18th, 2018|Handwoven, Photography, Textiles|0 Comments

This bound weave sampler has been a long time in the making.  I think once I figured out how the patterns are designed and realized how slow of a process this weaving was going to be, I lost my mojo.  Maybe a downside in having 3 looms set up is that I can ignore one [...]

weavers gathering at my home

By |2017-05-27T02:26:22+00:00May 27th, 2017|2nd Monday, Handwoven, Textiles|0 Comments

It was fun to have our weavers group gather at my house on a lovely spring day.  Once we got show and tell out of the way and stuffed ourselves  with quiche and lots of great food we spent some time taking in the view from my deck. The  eagles made an appearance in trees [...]

I have been to Decorah many times but this is the first time I have been through the exhibits at the Vesterheim Museum.  What a treat!  I have been wanting to see the exhibit of Lila Nelson's weavings as a few from our weavers group have taken classes with her and had a lot of [...]
