The new year brought our 2nd Monday gathering to fellow weaver Kathy’s house. It was doubly wonderful to be here after missing last months gathering due to this bloody winter weather. Sorry, it seems I have been feeling a bit cooped up lately and judging from the large turnout I wasn’t the only one.
As usual food and fiber are in direct competition for our attention.
Above are 2 woven linen scarves by Susan, the top dip dyed. Mittens from Barbs fast growing collection. And the sweater Nan has been working on for her son; that she has had to add on to as he is growing faster that she is knitting.
Newly woven wrist warmers in alpaca, linen and cotton by Susan. The final section to be woven on Joannes twined rag rug. Go here to see more on her weaving of this rug.
Lindas deflected doubleweave scarf, and Jan being the hand model for my knitted wrist warmers.

Some of Kathy’s inspiring work scattered about her home and studio.
Thanks Kathy for having us out to your peaceful abode. And I thought my driveway was bad!
It surely was a nice gathering. I always appreciate your documenting our day, thanks…aren't fibers beautiful!
Only one weaver went in the ditch…but she did drive out
A fun day – thanks for documenting in pictures Angie!
Hello…i have just recently found your blog…..it was almost like looking at myself! : Monday table photo/my grandmas dishes, blackberry ridge mitts i am knitting, felted balls i just cut in half for door stoppers, and Something rag woven……..then more rag weaving (or maybe twining?)……then handwarmers that look like the Kristen Boot toppers from the library book i just got yesterday…..then a black blockwoven rag rug, that oh my goodness!, looks almost identical to ones i have woven…….then Krokbragd, that i am just now warping on my loom to get ready for a K class at Sievers in October……and then Debs Diamond Rag Rugs, designed by my gal pal Deb S who I used to work with but we still socialize together and talk about weaving, when we can…….wow!
Mother
Sounds like you are one of us indeed!
I grew up in Madison, so guess we really are linked.
