As usual December was here and gone so fast I don’t know why I was in such a tizzy. One respite from all of the holiday preparations was our weavers gathering that took place at a pop-up shop in Viroqua called Artisan Alley. It was a great place to find quality handmade items and I don’t know if I’ve ever seen so many talented weavers in one shop/gallery.
I will share some of those pics and some from my Christmas pics at home. My Christmas eve was a bit screwed up because I tested positive on a home test the morning of; when 15 or so of Jim’s family were coming for dinner. We quickly called and canceld and that was hard because we had so looked forward to gathering after missing last year.
After isolating while my girls and Jim made a wonderful dinner, I hid upstairs texting back and forth on how to do what. I found out LaCrosse had testing open until 6:00 that night and made a hurried ride up there to get an expedited test that was supposed to be done in 2 hours. Long story short I checked my email again before heading to bed at 1:30am (still have to stuff those stockings); and my results came back negative. I was so happy to get to have Christmas morning with everyone. I realize I was very lucky where many many others haven’t been. However my short brush with thinking that I had covid makes me even more sure that I really don’t want to get this virus. But now that I know that my family can do everything (except the epic gravy failure), I’m off the hook for cooking next year. Happy, healthy New Year to all.
