A lovely, foggy winter morning, catching up on some of my favorite blogs with a cup of tea and some new yarn to try. Shelter is a yarn I have been looking forward to trying, designed by my favorite blogger/photographer/knitwear designer; Jared Flood of Brooklyn Tweed fame. It is manufactured in Harrisville, NH from Wyoming raised Targee-Columbia sheep, softer than I expected and with the same color flecks and variations that I love in the Harrisville yarns.
I was actually on his site to buy the hat pattern, Fenimore to be downloaded and found that all too easy and decided to order a couple of skeins of the yarn also. Believe it or not, this was the first time I have bought patterns or knitting yarns online. Oh dear, talk about instant gratification (almost), one click and yarn in my hands a couple of days later. I better go fondle some of my stash so that I don’t make a habit of this.
