Handwoven Pearls Lace Scarf in Wool

Description

Pearls is a merino wool scarf handwoven by Kindred Threads in a lacy weave structure called bead leno. Dark Mallard green (almost black) wool warp and weft and  highlights of peach wool and a heavier variegated wool in the warp for interest.  This is light and airy in a next to skin soft merino wool that is a delight to wear.

This is woven in a technique that was intriguing, but very slow to weave.  Beads  are threaded onto certain warp (lengthwise) threads to twist the threads in a way that is not possible in normal weaving. This is the epitome of what slow cloth is.

Handwash in cold / Hang to dry/ iron if needed.

12.5 inches wide by 66 inches long with 4.5 inch twisted fringe.
